1. Who we are
Job One Recruitment is operated by WISEMARS PTY LTD (ABN 98 699 059 026, ACN 699 059 026) (“Job One”, “we”, “us” or “our”).
We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles where they apply. Where they do not apply, we aim to follow the same principles as a matter of good practice.
2. Candidate Privacy Notice
When you send us a CV or candidate enquiry, WISEMARS PTY LTD trading as Job One Recruitment collects the information you provide so that we can assess your experience, contact you, consider you for suitable recruitment opportunities and provide related recruitment services.
If you do not provide sufficient information, we may not be able to assess or contact you about suitable roles. We may disclose relevant information to prospective employers, referees and service providers as described below. We will not send your identifiable CV to a prospective employer for a particular opportunity without your permission.
You can request access to or correction of your information, or make a privacy complaint, by emailing info@jobone.com.au.
Please send only your CV and the information requested in your enquiry. Do not send passport, identity, banking, tax or health documents unless we later request them for a lawful and necessary purpose using an appropriate method.
3. Personal information we may collect
Depending on how you deal with us, we may collect:
- your name, contact details, location and communication preferences;
- your CV, employment history, education, qualifications, licences, skills, availability and salary expectations;
- information about your work rights and whether you may require employer sponsorship;
- interview notes, role preferences, reference information and recruitment communications;
- information provided by employers about roles, businesses and hiring contacts;
- technical information associated with use of our website, such as IP address, browser and device information, security logs and basic usage data; and
- other information you choose to provide or that is reasonably necessary for our recruitment services.
Sensitive information
We may collect sensitive information, such as health information, professional memberships, criminal history or information relevant to workplace adjustments, only where it is reasonably necessary for our functions and we have your consent, or where collection is otherwise permitted by law.
4. How we collect information
We usually collect information directly from you by email, telephone, interview, your CV or other correspondence. We may also collect information from employers, referees, publicly available professional sources, recruitment platforms and lawful screening or verification providers. If you give us another person’s information, please make sure you are authorised to do so.
5. Why we collect and use information
We may collect, hold and use personal information to:
- respond to enquiries and provide recruitment services;
- assess a candidate’s skills, experience, availability and suitability for possible roles;
- identify, discuss and manage potential employment opportunities;

- manage our employer relationships, agreements, records and accounts;
- protect our systems, prevent fraud and comply with legal obligations; and
- improve our recruitment processes and website.
Submitting a CV is an expression of interest. It does not create an employment relationship with us and does not guarantee an interview, job offer, visa or employer sponsorship.
6. When we disclose information
Where reasonably necessary for the purposes above, we may disclose personal information to:
- prospective employers and their authorised representatives;
- referees, qualification bodies and screening or verification providers;
- our professional advisers, insurers, technology, hosting, email and document-storage providers;
- government bodies, regulators, courts or law enforcement where required or authorised by law; and
- another person with your consent or at your direction.
We will not sell your personal information. We will not require a candidate to purchase a third-party service as a condition of being considered for recruitment opportunities.
7. Overseas candidates and disclosures
We accept enquiries from candidates in Australia and overseas. If you are overseas, information you send to us will be transferred to and handled in Australia.
Some technology or support providers may store or process information outside Australia. The countries involved may vary depending on the provider and service used. We take reasonable steps required by law before making an overseas disclosure. You may contact us for current information about likely overseas locations relevant to your information.
If an Australian employer needs to communicate with a person or organisation outside Australia for a candidate’s recruitment process, we will discuss the relevant disclosure with the candidate where appropriate.
8. Storage, security and retention
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. No email or internet transmission is completely secure, so please do not send identity or financial documents unless requested through an appropriate process.
We retain information only for as long as reasonably needed for recruitment, business, legal and record-keeping purposes. When information is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to delete it or de-identify it, unless the law requires us to retain it.
9. Access and correction
You may ask to access or correct the personal information we hold about you. We may need to verify your identity first. In limited circumstances permitted by law, we may refuse access or correction; if so, we will generally explain why and how you can complain.
You may also ask us to stop contacting you about opportunities or to delete information we no longer need, subject to legal and legitimate record-keeping requirements.
10. Privacy complaints
Send a privacy complaint to info@jobone.com.au with enough detail for us to understand the issue. We will acknowledge and investigate the complaint and aim to respond within a reasonable period.
If you are not satisfied with our response and the Privacy Act applies, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Our website and its hosting or security providers may process basic technical data needed to deliver and protect the site. We do not currently use advertising cookies. If we add analytics, advertising technology or new online forms, we will update this policy and provide any additional notice or choices required by law.
